Community Learning

Learning is at the centre of the work to transform Covent Garden Playground.

Our Learning programme aims to be inclusive and accessible with hands-on activities for schools, families and the local community centred around wildlife, new habitats and gardening.

Our large outdoor spaces will allow the Playground to host school visits for up to 30 children plus staff focused on activities across the curriculum including science, nature recovery and art. To help schools comply with their Safeguarding requirements, Westminster Council has given permission for schools to have exclusive use of the Playground at its quietest times, on certain mornings of the year, making Covent Garden Playground the perfect choice for your school trip.

We are also creating a Nature Trail linked by QR signs to activity sheets for young people of all ages and online learning resources that introduce and build nature recovery skills. These explore the theme of gardens and nature through play, food growing, plant science and a seasonal aspect of the Playground’s new habitats for wildlife each month.
